    Recent Tour (Boulder)

I guess I'm posting this in response to a post below (on the SF show). Iron and Wine has been my absolute fovorite band since I discovered them back in early 2004. I was slightly taken aback by the tone of the performance in Boulder (that is, lots of horns, big band, electic guitars, etc.), but not too awfully shocked. I had last seen iron and wine at a couple shows in ohio in 2005, on the woman king tour, and even then Sam was experimenting with the arrangements (i particularly remember a reggae inspired version of cinder and smoke). However, I left this last show feeling disappointed.

I guess I'm posting this in response to a post below (on the SF show). Iron and Wine has been my absolute fovorite band since I discovered them back in early 2004. However, I left this last show feeling disappointed. I know that Sam likes to fucck with the songs, and, yes, i CAN listen to the mellow-er album versions whenever I want. But, come on man, just a short interlude with a few acoustic songs, just Sam and back-up vocalists, something stripped down and minimalist, would have made my night!! I read that the show in NY last January was set up like that, and i think it would have made all the difference! Oh, but The Head and The Heart were amazing!! But I never thought that I would have left the theater preferring their performance to Sam's.
