    Hi,

Not sure whether this is the right forum but I was wondering whether anyone has a spare ticket for any of the London shows? Am a genuine fan and don't want to line a tout's pockets.

Please let me know - i can meet outside the venue :-)

    Many thanks,

    Erin

I went to both shows, and both were brilliant in different ways. The "Acoustic" night was just amazing and one of my favourite gigs ever. I spent the first 15 minutes just smiling at how good it was!!!
Monday was also great, what i love about Iron and Wine live is the fact the songs are different each time you hear them, different instruments, different mixing, different rythyms - i can see why one person might like them on any given night,. while another would dislike though as the versions are so different. But you take a song like "Upward over the mountian" and I've heard 3 completely different versions of it, all great music, but totally different in their speed and focus. GThey can be hit and miss when you see them, and i do think they often take a few songs to getr the sound levels right - plus the venue has a big impact. I love em to death though,. come back soon!!!! Play St Georges Church, Brighton again!!!!

I was dissapionted not to be able to go to Shepherds Bush but after reading Tweekuubhuub's comments I am quite glad I missed it. I am quite a new convert to I&W discovering Kiss Me Clean and then Shepherd's Dog, which I agree is one of the top ten albums this decade and part of that is due to the sublety of sound and great songs. I saw them at the Roundhouse with the full band earlier this year and was suitably impressed but not half as impressed as I was on Sunday.

Just got back from the Shepherds Bush show. One of the most disappointing shows I have ever seen. The full band treatment of many of the songs stripped them off all subtlety and nuance. The blaring horns in every songs made it sound like a bad high school production and the calypso version of House by the Sea was an absolute lowpoint (I left after that, so if it got worse, I thankfully missed it). I am a huge fan of Iron and Wine and The Shepherd's Dog ranks somewhere in my top ten of the last decade (a few spots behind In the Reins) but the happy Las Vegas treatment didn't suit the songs at all. Like Nigel mentioned, these songs are great; they don't electronics, background singers and three horn players, and definitely not all at the same time.

Hi Thanks for last nights show at the Hackney Empire. The strip down versions of the songs played show them for what great songs they are. The band were terrific and the atmosphere was brilliant. Thankfully there was no one talking during the numbers, a habit that seems to have crept into too many gigs lately (I can't understand why go to listen to music and gabble all the way through?) fortunately did not happen last night which is a testamant to how good the set was.

Many, many thanks and I look forward to the next time you play London (unfortunately I can't make Sheperds Bush tonight)

Hi Erin

I have two spare for tonight's Hackney Empire show, as I can no longer make it. I only want to sell as a pair though i'm afraid.

Obviously face value at £20 each, and could meet somewhere mutually convenient before 5pm this afternoon.

Cheers

Jamie
