    Unreleased Songs should be Released

    Hey,

On YouTube, someone's managed to put up Sam's old demo album, and there are some truly incredible songs on there that are so reminiscent of his old style that I'm sure his fans would LOVE to hear either used more at concerts or even released as an EP.

The songs I'm really thinking of are Postcard, Her Tea Leaves, Beauty and Family, Blue Leaves, and countless others. There are so many incredible songs on that demo album that so many Iron & Wine fans will never get he chance to see.

    Just a thought.

Sam actually played many of those songs during his acoustic tour in 2009! Those live recordings used to be available on playedlastnight.com, but the site shut down in 2010 unfortunately. However, live recordings of all those songs ARE out there somewhere! You can probably find them if you search hard enough :)

I also agree with you. these songs are the most incredible songs. I enjoyed the blue leave in the you tube most. Thanks!

I agree. I have been trying to find songs including calm on the valley and her tea leaves. The unreleased songs on youtube are beautiful.

Totally agree. A writer at Paste magazine just wrote about and album of "unreleased early sessions" But I can't find it anywhere!

Yeah, I've found that too! They're incredible... did you also find the Nick Drake cover? So, are these an original demo from before Cradle or... ??? I've been dying for some more info on these very mysterious YouTube videos for a while now, as they're mostly songs which aren't even on Around the Well or the Home Recordings, Lost Notes, Yeti, Singles Club or 2002 Tour EP compilations. Just how much unreleased material is there?
