I love the songs, new and old, but there were too many people on stage. 4 or 5, as in the World Cafe concert (w/ David Dye), would have been been great. 11 musicians, including 3 brass/woodwinds, 2 drums, 2 female singers, guitars, etc, etc. was too much for me.
I love the simplicity (and complexity) of the song lyrics and mostly gentle tunes, but with all the buzz - electronic, vocal, blaring sax, etc. the beauty was lessened.
But thanks for coming to Vermont! Come again - just don't bring so many buddies.
What did other people think of the sold out show?

Amazing show! If the sound that Sam hears in his head, and wishes to share with us, requires an 11-piece band, then that's what we're going to hear.
